Not something you will be seeing everyday, Brazilian football legend Ronaldo will be challenging the 14-time tennis Grand Slam winner, Rafael Nadal to seek his revenge for last year’s loss on a live head-to-head poker game match.
The two sporting greats will meet in the battle titled as “The Duel” as the Spaniard has accepted the challenge gracefully.
The action is scheduled to be broadcast live from London on 6 November, 2014, according to the announcement made by PokerStars in a press release on Friday.
The 14-time Grand Slam winner will resume his poker training to hone his skills and seal a second consecutive victory over Ronaldo.
“It was my first live poker tournament when I last played against Ronaldo and one year later I’m more confident with my skill level. I really enjoy playing poker and the challenge of learning as quickly as possible, so I can’t wait to get back into training on my game and to play against Ronaldo,” said World no. 2, Nadal.
Ronaldo challenged Nadal for a battle once again after he got to know about his preparations and training.
“I challenged Rafa to a rematch after finding out he was preparing for another live poker game. The last time we played together Rafa won the match and it was a lot of fun. This time it will be different, though, because I have been improving on my own poker strategy and will be more prepared,” said Ronaldo.
Nadal will look to seal back-to-back victories against the Brazilian. The game will broadcast live on YouTube and PokerStars.tv.
